Why This Matters

Real-world registry data on upadacitinib can help patients and clinicians understand how the drug performs outside clinical trials, including patterns of use, effectiveness, and safety over time.

Who Should Pay Attention

Adults with moderate-to-severe UC or Crohn's disease on or considering upadacitinib; gastroenterologists and clinical researchers studying JAK inhibitors and real-world IBD outcomes.

What To Know

This is a ClinicalTrials.gov registry record for a non-interventional, observational study in Belgium enrolling adults with moderate-to-severe ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease who are prescribed upadacitinib in routine care.

About 280 participants will be followed for up to three years to collect real-world data on effectiveness and safety; primary outcomes include patient-reported clinical remission measures up to ~52 weeks.

The study will enroll participants who started commercially prescribed upadacitinib at least 12 months prior to inclusion or who are initiating treatment as part of routine care; participants previously treated with upadacitinib in a trial or early-access program are excluded.

Visits align with regular clinical practice and the protocol states no additional burden is expected beyond routine care.

Keep In Mind

This is a trial registry (observational) record without posted results. Observational studies report associations and real-world experience but are not randomized controlled trials.
