This retrospective single‑center cohort (Jan 2021–Dec 2025) included 42 biologic‑experienced UC patients starting ustekinumab. The authors measured treatment persistence (time from start to discontinuation) and found 12‑ and 24‑month persistence rates of 90.5% and 85.7%, respectively; 14.3% discontinued during follow‑up.
The study found prior surgical history and female sex were associated with higher discontinuation / lower persistence. Other factors examined (smoking, disease extent, prior biologics, extraintestinal manifestations) were not statistically linked to persistence in this cohort.
