What To Know

This is a preclinical mouse study using DSS to induce colitis and a murine pks+ E. coli (EcNC101). The reported interventions—oral putrescine and B. pseudolongum—were associated with higher acetate levels in the colon and reduced histologic and inflammatory markers of colitis in these animals. The authors propose that acetate produced by B.
