What To Know
This is a registered observational study (recruiting) at Showa Inan General Hospital testing whether serum leucine-rich α2-glycoprotein (LRG) can predict histologic remission in ulcerative colitis (UC).
Participants will have serum LRG measured by ELISA; colonoscopy with histologic assessment (Geboes score) is performed when histologic remission is predicted, regardless of symptoms. The planned enrollment is 100 adults (age 20–90).
The study’s primary goal is to identify an LRG cutoff that predicts histologic remission (Geboes score <2) and to assess diagnostic performance using ROC analysis. This is an observational biomarker study, not a treatment trial; it measures LRG and compares it to endoscopy and histology findings.
