Why This Matters

Robotic MIS could change how some IBD operations are performed. This study will help determine if robotic approaches are technically feasible and how intraoperative measures compare to standard laparoscopic techniques.

Who Should Pay Attention

Adults with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis considering minimally invasive surgery; colorectal surgeons and surgical teams; clinical researchers in surgical technology.

What To Know

This is a recruiting observational registry across multiple UK centers enrolling adults with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis who are undergoing minimally invasive IBD surgery.

The study will record intraoperative technical metrics (estimated blood loss, port positions, docking time, operative time) to assess feasibility and optimal robotic setup for multi-quadrant procedures. The protocol excludes planned open surgeries and requires capacity for informed consent.

Planned enrollment is about 100 participants at several NHS Trust sites.

Keep In Mind

Observational registry recruiting across multiple UK NHS centers; primary outcomes are intraoperative technical metrics (blood loss, port placement, docking, operative time). This is a protocol/trial record and does not present results.
