What To Know
The study used dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) to induce acute colitis in mice and tested oral H7F at two doses. Outcomes included body weight, disease activity index, colon length, histology, tight junction and mucin proteins, cytokine and apoptosis markers, 16S rRNA microbiome profiling, metabolomics, and transcriptomics.
H7F treatment was associated with less weight loss, lower DAI scores, preserved colon length, improved histologic injury, increased expression of ZO-1/occludin/claudin-1 and Muc2, reduced proinflammatory cytokines and Bax/Bcl-2 ratio, partial reversal of microbiota changes, and inhibition of IL-17/NF-κB–related genes.
