What To Know
This is a Phase 2 randomized, participant- and investigator-blind trial (AZD7798 vs placebo) testing AZD7798 in adults with active ileal Crohn’s disease who have an existing ileostomy.
The main goals are to evaluate safety, tolerability, and mucosal repair during a 12-week blinded induction followed by a 40-week open-label maintenance for eligible participants.
The trial plans to enroll about 24–30 participants globally, uses ileoscopy with central reader scoring (SES-CD on the ileal segment) to confirm active ileal inflammation, and collects standard safety labs and vital signs.
Key eligibility rules exclude recent use of biologics or other advanced therapies unless drug levels are undetectable by therapeutic-drug-monitoring, and exclude participants with strictures preventing endoscope passage or high-output stoma risks.
